Listening to the Voices of Creation
September 13, 2022
9AM PT | 11AM CT | 12PM ET
Join us to welcome Maryknoll Lay Missioner Peg Vámosy. She lives in the rural community of Monte San Juan in El Salvador where her parish is helping people live out their own baptismal call to mission through agricultural and environmental ministry.
Peg works to increase awareness of environmental issues and to seek ways to respond to them. Peg and other ministry members conduct training sessions and workshops on ecological conversion, biodiversity, pesticide safety, water conservation, and more. Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Sí, (On Care for Our Common Home) has been an invaluable tool and a continuing source of inspiration and direction for them in their ministry.

Ministry with Asian Refugees on the Thai-Myanmar border
October 19, 2022
5 PM PT | 7 PM CT | 8 PM ET
Fr John Barth, MM, will be leading us in a unique and important webinar about his ministry with refugees from Pakistan, Nepal and Afghanistan living along the Thailand - Myanmar border.
Bangkok is a crossroads for refugees from all around South and East Asia who wait years for a sponsor so the UN will not close their case.
Fr. John has been a Maryknoll priest since 1991. He lived in Cambodia until 2021 where he founded Rehabilitation for Blind Cambodians. The program trained social workers to help the blind living in poverty. More recently Fr. John has served in South Sudan and Uganda where he continued his ministry to the blind.
