    A REFLECTION (John 14: 23 – 29)

     

    THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL TEACH YOU. Shortly before his death Jesus assured his disciples that he would not abandon them. In his name, the Father will send the Holy Spirit to be with them and guide them. The early Christian community experienced the Spirit’s presence as they sought to discern God’s will on various issues: ‘it has been decided by the Holy Spirit and ourselves’, the apostles and elders would say. As we face difficult decisions today we also can be at peace, confident that God’s Spirit with us.
