We thank you for the comfort you bring to us and for the light you shed upon the darkness in our lives. Your gentle care and kindness gives us strength when we are down. Your loyal companionship keeps us secure in knowing we are not alone and that we are a special person to you.

Loving God,

Why did you make growing up so hard?

Everyone always says these are the best years of my life.

If they really are, why do I go through so much misery and strife?

Sometimes I feel like I’m on top of the world without any fears,

But in all reality I feel pressured to fit in with my peers.

I’ll never know why I try so hard to fit in,

But deep down inside I know that you are my true friend.

You’ll love me and lead me and forgive all my sins.

God our Father,

lead me to grow in faith

and keep a healthy balance in my life.

Remind me that I need to

give time and space for myself

as well as for others.

Inspire me

to remaining committed in my work,

sharing quality time with my family,

and enjoying

sufficient rest and recreation.

For the Gift of Understanding

Lord Jesus Christ, grant us the gift of understanding.

Help us to understand the feelings of others and the desires of others.

At the same time, help us to understand our actions and reactions.

Widen our vision beyond our own small world to embrace with

knowledge and love the worlds of others.

Help us, Lord, to always see you at work in our life and in the lives of others.

Bless us with insight, acceptance and love.

Help us to understand, Lord.
