Can you remember a time when you felt sad or upset? Who helped you to feel better?

THE STORY

In this gospel reading Jesus is reminding his followers that it isn’t easy to be a disciple. In fact, Jesus tells them that they will have hard times in their lives and that terrible things may happen in the world. However, Jesus tells them not to be afraid, but to keep trusting and believing in him.

Dear Jesus,

Help us to trust in you at all times.

We know we don’t have to worry

because you are with us always.

God has rescued us from the powers of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son. Through Christ the King we offer our prayers to the Father.

MORNING PRAYER (Thursday 18^th November 2022)

Dear Lord,

We pray for our faith community. May we always be aware that Christ is present with us and that he continues to shape and inspire us.

We pray for the sick and for all who have asked for our prayers. We pray for all the faithful departed, especially those who have died recently, and for those whose anniversaries occur at this time. May they enter into the eternal life promised to them.

Merciful God, may our prayers being hope, healing and compassion to all those in need. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
