I AM A SINNER
A REFLECTION (Luke 5: 1-11)
I AM A SINNER. In today’s Scripture readings the prophet Isaiah, the apostle Paul, and the apostle Peter each acknowledges that he is a sinner: ‘I am a man of unclean lips’, cries Isaiah; ‘I persecuted the Church of God’, confesses Paul; ‘I am a sinful man’, say Peter. They know their need of forgiveness but they are also aware of the power of God at work in them. We too are sinners, but if we have faith in the grace of God working within us, we can be great missionaries as well.
