Join us on immersion trips to El Paso/Juarez and El Salvador. We are accepting applications!
Have you ever wondered: "What's an immersion trip, what would I do there and why should I go?" These are all great questions. An immersion trip is about 6 - 10 days in which you join a group to encounter people and explore the economic/social realities of different people, cultures and countries. It's not so much about what we do but rather what we receive from others: broadened horizons and mutual transformation. Each immersion trip includes:
Pre-trip orientation
On-site introduction to the spiritual, cultural, economic, and political realities
Encounters with everyday people to hear their stories of hope and challenge
Visit Maryknoll missionaries, hear their stories of working with the people and discover how their work in mission connects with yours
Daily communal prayer, liturgies and theological reflection
Visits to historic and cultural sites
Post-trip debriefing and reflection
Credits for Continuing Education

This week-long immersion experience to El Paso, Texas and Juárez, MX on January 18 - 24, 2023 or July 22-28, 2023 will expose you to the current realities at the US/Mexican border as thousands continue to flee to the US to escape violence and poverty in their own countries.
