Kris EastTue, Apr 5 at 6:14 AMDear Deacon Dinh,
Palm Sunday takes us back to the passion of Jesus some 2000 years ago. But it is a timeless story. As missionary disciples, we are invited to recognize crucifixion today in those who are also tortured, degraded, oppressed, and killed as Jesus was. It may be hard to see this and to move from pity to engagement. But Jesus invites us to accompany and walk in solidarity with the oppressed and all who suffer with a boundless love that accepts the consequences of loving to the end.
Prayer
Oh gentle Lord. As you carried your cross through the streets of Jerusalem how many people turned away and ignored you? Would we have been one of those who turned a blind eye to your injustice and suffering? Give us the strength and courage to see you today in those who continue to be crucified by indifference, marginalization, discrimination and poverty.
