STABAT MATER DOLOROSA
MORNING PRAYER (Friday 2nd April 2021)
This week is the end of Lent and we culminate Lent with three days called the Easter Triduum. In our last week before Easter let us reflect upon the importance of these three days.
GOOD FRIDAY – THE CRUCIFIXION
At the crucifixion they stripped him and put a notice over his head saying ‘The King of the Jews’. Jesus endured the mocking of the crowds and jeering from the soldiers as he slowly died an agonising death.
REFLECTION:
“I was powerless” …… “I couldn’t do a thing” ….. “It’s nothing to do with me” …..
Do these statements sound familiar?
How many times do we say these comments when we hear about refugees or an injustice occurring within our society?
Lord, we pray that we might notice the injustices happening around us and act upon resolving these issues rather than making excuses and ignoring them.
Amen.
