    MORNING PRAYER (Thursday 8th April 2021)

     

    Mary at the foot of the cross gives us an extraordinary example of a mother’s courage and love. Standing there beneath the cross she knows the heartache not only of losing her Son, but losing Him in the most horrific way. From the cross she hears Jesus ask her to be a mother of John. John represents all of us. From the moment of Jesus’ death Mary becomes our mother, too – the spiritual mother of all people for all time. This is why we pray to Her and honour Her.
