    I will not be jealous

    I will not condemn

    I will rejoice at another’s victories.

    I will delight in the success of others.

    I will not think others less worthy

    Or less important than I

    I will not see my work as more important than someone else’s.

    I will pray for those who are my competitors.

     I will rejoice in my relationship with the Lord.

    Dear Lord,

    We thank you for the gift of friendship.

    May we always be thankful for our friends, for their warmth and gentleness.

    May we solve any little disputes with open and considerate communication and know that a true friend forgives and does not hold a grudge.

    May we be good friends, willing to listen to others and to comfort them when we can.

    Watch over our friends and keep them safe and well, dear Lord.

How easy it is to be thankful when things go my way!

How easy it is to be kind and helpful when not much is asked of me.

How easy it is to love someone who loves me in return.

How hard it is to be thankful for the courage to try again when I fail!

How hard it is to be kind when words and actions hurt me.

How hard it is to love someone who is unlike me.

God, give me strength.
