MORNING PRAYER (Wednesday 12 August 2020)

For the gift of wonder

Spirit of God, grant us the gift of wonder.

We are part of your beautiful creative world,

yet daily we miss the beauty that surrounds us.

Encourage us to notice the small wonders in life.

The buds developing on the trees,

the dew on the grass on these cold mornings,

the crispness of the sun as it moves over us each new day

and most importantly allow us to be warmed by the smile

from our neighbor.

Spirit of God helps us delight in our sense of wonder.

Amen.

Come, Holy Spirit,

renew the whole creation.

*Spirit of unity,

  reconcile your people.

**Give us the wisdom

to hold to what we need

to be your church.

Give us the grace

to lay down those things

that you can do without.

Give us a vision of your breadth

and length and height

that will challenge our

smallness of heart

and bring us humbly together.

Come, Holy Spirit,

renew the whole creation.

***Spirit of life and power,

transform our dreams

that we may be your people.

Give us the gifts we need.

Walk with us on the road

as we risk living your way

in spirit and in truth.

Come, Holy Spirit, come,

renew the whole creation,
