Though we may not be able to see God,
We can see our neighbour,
Lord, teach us to love our neighbour as Jesus loves them.
Let us give them the tender smile of our tenderness, regardless of how we happen to be feeling.
Teach us to love what is Divine in each person we meet today.
Teach us to be forgiving, merciful and compassionate.
We make this prayer through Jesus Christ, Our Lord.

Praying with others across the world
Lord, you said that when two or three
would gather together in your name,
then you would be present with them.
I am praying by myself (or ‘on the Internet’)
but I am uniting myself
with many individual Christians
throughout the world
who, though separate,
are gathered together in another sense
to pray to you,
and I trust that you are with me now.
